As an owner or stakeholder in a website, you must take the time to discover content, evaluate that content, and implement a link to it on a webpage. Make sure that your web page URLs are SEO friendly, use mod re-write for Linux and Apahche hosting or use IIS redirect for Windows. Ideally make it so that the URLs describe your content. Press releases are some of the least-appreciated backlink tactics out there. Fortunately, you don’t need a Madison Avenue PR firm to reap the rewards from press releases. As long as you have something going on at your business (and why wouldn’t you?), you can easily spin that into a new press release. SEO means Search Engine Optimization – and refers to the process of creating and modifying a website so that it gets more traffic from Google and other search engines. SEO used to be simple and you could just write your keyword over and over again, but has become more complex over the years.
At some stage you are going to have a large list of potential keywords. We need to find a way of picking the best ones to concentrate on. Within this we want a mix of head and long-tail terms. Think of a sitemap
as Do your mathematical analysis - the primary resources
are there for the taking. Its as easy as KS2 Maths
or ABC. Its that simple! a list of files that give hints to the search engines on how they can crawl your website. Sitemaps help search engines find and classify content on your site that they may not have found on their own. Ensure the number of new site visitors arriving via organic search is growing, month to month and year over year. There are many sites out there which promise you quick ways to get to the top of Google. Many of them are exploiting current loopholes in Google’s algorithm. Yes they may get you to the top of Google for now, but once Google spots those loopholes they will close them, and often punish the sites who took advantage. So you could soon find yourself plummeting back down again.
The hardest part of SEO is waiting
The best ways to get do follow links is the honest way: creating awesome, original content that gets shared and linked to naturally. Other approaches include guest blogging, especially on a site relevant to your own so that you can build referral traffic in addition to getting an SEO boost. It really comes down
to just using common sense. Just sit down and think, "What would other people search to find this? What would I search for to find this?" If you are focused on a local market, it is also important to get connected with local businesses and organizations. Social signals - how many times a piece of content is shared, tweeted and liked - have become a crucial part of the way search engines decide which content is the most useful and should be ranked higher.
Include a compelling reason to click your search result
A small dip in search traffic is no immediate cause for concern (it may just be a temporary drop in consumer interest); but if that dip lasts for more than a few weeks or turns into a more significant drop, you’ll need to troubleshoot the problem to see what’s going on. Rankings matter. But they’re not the metric you should be focusing on. There aren’t many free, intuitive programs that give you the kind of super-valuable information that Google Analytics (GA) does. Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant
, commented: "Make sure you pick a permalink structure that fits your goals. If you have a news site, it might make sense to add the publication date of the article to the URL."
Making Websites More Visible
As other search engines become the default Web browsers instead of Google, it makes sense to optimize for those search engines as well. A redirect chain occurs
when there is more than one redirect between the initial URL and the destination URL. When a URL is redirected, it should have a single 301 redirect in place. Most people look at SEO the wrong way. They look at ways to do the least amount of work for the greatest initial return, when in fact, it's quite the opposite. The best way to secure high quality links is by creating strong content that sources will naturally want to connect their readership to.
